Delightfully Gluten Free (TM)

Live Gluten Freely Giveaway!

Just keep swimming, just keep swimming: currently my motto.

I’ve been sitting on this giveaway for about a month, I think, with the products right by my computer.  However, between my job, teaching piano lessons, and the children eating at their dad’s house sometimes, I don’t cook very often anymore.  It’s kind of sad, but it’s getting better. 🙂

So, I must admit, I still haven’t tried all of the products in this giveaway.  But it’s a great giveaway.

Today’s giveaway is brought to us, through MyBlogSpark and General Mills, on behalf of LiveGlutenFreely.com.  LiveGlutenFreely.com is an online community created by General Mills, to showcase their gluten-free products.  There are also recipes and articles from gluten-free bloggers.

If you’re the winner of this giveaway, you can expect an assortment of gluten-free products from General Mills: Betty Crocker, Chex, Larabar, Bisquick, a Betty Crocker spoon, and some coupons!

You are probably, by now, familiar with a number of these products.  Honey Nut Chex, when it first came out,  was like we had won the lottery.  Finally, a gluten-free cereal that we could find anywhere, that everyone in the family liked.  That stuff is a bit addicting though.

Remember when Betty Crocker came out with the gluten-free dessert mixes last year?  If you don’t, feel free to read my posts about the vanilla cake mix and the brownie mix.

To enter this contest, leave a comment about what product(s) you would most love to see gluten-free, readily available.  For instance, I would LOVE to have a gluten-free cheese-it/cheese nip type cracker.  I love the ones from Out of the Breadbox, but they are pretty hard to come by (without ordering online and shipping, etc.).

This giveaway will close at 9pm Central on Saturday, December 25, 2010.  (Merry Christmas!)

You are very right about cheese-y crackers. The other for us would be graham crackers. How neat it would be to have those at your everyday types of stores.

I would love gluten free graham crackers and a Ritz -like cracker so that I can make some of my favorite recipes for my two grandsons who have Celiacs.

I agree about a Cheez-Its type cracker. I get so tired of the rice crackers. I don’t think that I’ve touched them in a year! Thanks for the tip about Out of the Breadbox crackers, I see some of their products at the health food store that I shop at for my gluten free flours. I’ll pay attention next time.

I’d love something like a gluten-free crescent rolls tube that you could just pop or gluten-free frozen puff pastry.

How ’bout gluten free onion rings?

  13. Jen Avatar

Ohhh yeah GF Onion Rings!!! That would be awesome. I would like to see more GF products that are also DAIRY FREE!

I heard Ian’s is coming out with GF onion rings. I just found some Kinnikinnick GF graham crackers at Whole Foods a couple weeks ago and they tasted great! My gluten eating hubby couldn’t tell the difference. I second the ready made refrigerated GF pie shell idea. Those would have saved me some time this holiday season!

Pilsbury crescent rolls, frozen dinners for those on the go nights. Just because you’re gluten free doesn’t mean you suddenly have time to make everything from scratch!

I would love gluten free poptarts. As a kid I ate them constantly as fuel for distance running. Now gluten intolerant I am so missing my favorite, easy to digest, sweet treat that would fuel me 10, 15, 20 miles of running each day. The kid in me would be revived.

I would love to see a more mainstream gluten free frozen pizza. I know that Amy’s makes one but, I can never find it in the store. I think that if a more mainstream company made one that stores would be more likely to carry it.

I would love to see a whole line of products similar to the Pilsbury ones in the cans. Crescent rolls, cinnamon buns, flaky biscuits, cut and bake cookies. That would be FANTASTIC.

Gluten free ready to cook biscuits, something that could be popped in the oven for hot bread… sometimes planning ahead isn’t accomplished very well! 🙂

I second Pop-Tarts– most things I’m pretty resigned to living without, but I am holding out hope for a good Pop-Tart alternative. And while there are all kinds of gf crackers available, I have yet to taste anything close to Ritz crackers or saltines. I got some decent crackers in Europe (I think they’re available heretoo) but the prices are ridiculous. A small pack (maybe 20 crackers) was over $5. Oh, and soft yummy donuts that are shelf-stable enough that they don’t need to be frozen.
