Delightfully Gluten Free (TM)

Glutino Toaster Pastry Giveaway

Gluten-Free Strawberry Toaster Pastry

Do you remember those crazy things we used to called Pop-Tarts?  If that’s something you’ve really missed, then fear no more.  Glutino has recently launched a gluten-free toaster pastry.

The Glutino Toaster Pastries have a very flaky crust, somewhere between a flaky biscuit and a pie crust.  They are not sweet (and have none of that silly sugary icing on top), and have a wonderful flavor.  The crust tastes like crust, and the strawberry insides taste like strawberries… and the schnozberries taste like schnozberries (wait, strike that last part).

Gluten Free Toaster Pastry

The Apple Cinnamon toaster pastries are like a dry apple pie (if it wasn’t dry, it would drip all over you).  Mmmmmm…apple pie…

I was in the health food store earlier, looking for a product they didn’t have, and one of the employees directed me to an endcap with some Glutino products.  He told me he really liked their cereal bars and many of their other products.  When I told him there were now toaster pastries (a non-gluten-free brand was sitting nearby), he about jumped out of his skin, ready to get them ordered into the store.

In addition to the samples Glutino sent me, they would like for you to give their new Toaster Pastries a try.  They are offering 3 packs to Delightfully Gluten Free readers, with a box each of the Strawberry and the Apple Cinnamon.  How does that sound?

To enter, simply leave a comment about your favorite toaster pastry memory or something similar.  My mom never bought junk food like that; I would eat so many of them when I went to friends’ houses. Never had a toaster pastry and you want to know what it is?  Tell me that!

Submit your comment prior to 9:00pm Central on Friday, April 26, 2013.  Winners will be drawn at random.  (U.S. addresses only, please.)

You can learn more about Glutino at their Facebook page.

Not that I ate them frequently, but I looooooved PopTarts when I was a kid. My favorite were the brown sugar cinammon ones… eating those for breakfast (when we had them) on a cold morning on the bus to school was sublime…

I am so excited to see products like toaster pastries become available gluten free. I can hardly remember what they taste like and my 15 year old son has never had the opportunity to eat one prior to his diagnosis of celiac.

I know some gluten free grlz that would love to try some gf poptarts, I’m sure the oldest two don’t remember them and the youngest probably never had them… though she likes to ooh and ahh over the gluten kind when I very rarely indulge (brown sugar cinnamon… yum!)

My Uncle used to work for Kelloggs and when I was little he would send my family boxes of Poptarts in his care packages. However, my mother and I both being Celiac would be left to watch my brother eat them all. 🙁 So I’m very excited to try these new wonderful fruit filled delights!!!!!

When I was in high school I was on the tennis team. Before matches I would toaster pastries or pop-tarts from the vending machine and eat them cold!! I always bought the cinnamon sugar flavor!

Toaster pastries were for Saturday mornings only. Mom let us eat them while we watch cartoons. The only time we got to eat in the living room.

I haven’t had a pop tart in years, and either have my 2 celiac daughters. I would toast my strawberry iced pop-tart and then slightly butter it… Cut it in fours, while it was still hot, then eat it!! Sometimes I would eat the crust and other times not – would devour the crust today if I could. Can feel myself go way back many years!!

My family have been looking for these glutenfree pop tarts for weeks, cant fjnd them anywhere. Thanks for the giveaway and hope I cab relive a time years ago when I was considered “normal as possible” and at the same time share this experience with my girls. Thanks

I had a box of these and they are fabulous!!! Can’t find them in the stores locally!! Remember eating poptarts as a young child. We didn’t get to eat them often!

Mmmmm, I would really like to try the apple ones! I miss pop tarts (though I sort of wish there were frosted options, if you’re gonna have a pop tart, better go all out?)

    Blueberry was always my favorite.

I grew up with toaster pastries , packed in my lunch bag for breakfast every morning. Throughout life we couldn’t figure out why I was always so sick and tired … then diagnosed with Celiac disease. So it is one of those pleasures that I miss. We try to keep our daughter as gluten free as possible too. She hasn’t been diagnosed yet… but better to be cautious. She hasn’t had pop tarts or toaster pastries, so I’d love to share some with her!

My favorites used to be the strawberry frosted Pop Tarts, toasted, and the brown sugar and cinnamon Pop Tarts, not toasted. MMM, my mouth is watering!

I wasn’t allowed to have pop tarts for breakfast as a kid, but occasionally I was allowed to have them as a snack or dessert. My husband eats them frequently for breakfast these days, and I get so jealous. Can’t wait to try these!

On school days, we were only allowed cereals such as Rice Krispies or Corn Flakes (NOT frosted), but on the weekends, we could have a bowl of Trix or my sister and I could share a package of Pop-Tarts. Usually my mom bought the unfrosted variety, but every once in a while we’d get those frosted kind that were basically dessert for breakfast, provided you didn’t over-toast them and char the already crispy frosting! I have been dying to try Glutino’s toaster pastries, I have looked in every store that might have them but nothing yet. Fingers crossed! Thank you!

Growing up, I was never a traditional breakfast eater, but I did love strawberry frosted pop tarts! Even as an adult, up until 2011, when I was diagnosed with Celiacs, I ate pop tarts at least a couple of times a week for breakfast :-)! I am so glad that there is now a gluten free version!

I grew up on pop tarts and my children had them for a short time until 2 out of 3 became gluten free. My 13 year old daughter has been looking for several years hoping to see that someone had come out with a gf pop tart. She still asks quite often why no one will make one. I had no idea that there was such a thing and want so bad to surprise her!! I would love to have these to try them. This would make her feel normal again especially when going to a sleep over!

My mom never let us have junky stuff for breakfast as a kid but I can remember having the frosted strawberry poptarts at a friends house! I always love the tangy/sweet strawberry filling with the crunchy frosting top. I preferred them cold 🙂

I am SO excited to try these! I used to eat the plain strawberry or blueberry Pop Tarts toasted with butter. This is probably one of the biggest treat foods that I miss being gluten-free. My mouth is watering just thinking about it!! 🙂

My son has been gluten free for three years. For 2 of those years he avoided dairy also. Now he can have ice cream, yogurt and some ice cream treats. He loves donuts
but they are very hard to find. I recently took him to a party and the mom told me a local bakery now carries gf donuts. So, I called and they claimed they didn’t.
On May 2 he will have part two of an operation to remove the metal rod inserted in his forearm when he broke it back in January of this year.
His birthday is May 10. I wanted to surprise him with donuts but no luck yet. I have known about the toaster pastries but they are not sold in our health food store yet.
Please consider him for this extremely special treat. Would be so nice to surprise
him the morning of his birthday with a warm pop tart. There would be big smiles! Thanks so much.

My mom would try to make me eat the unfrosted poptarts but I refused. There was always a systematic approach to eating them too. I would start by nibbling the edges ALL the way around up to the iced middle and then I would gnaw at the frosted top part until it was completely gone and then lastly eat the filling covered bottom. Needless to say it took me a good 15 minutes to eat my breakfast. And god forbid she buy me the smore flavored ones, that was an even lengthier process! Im soooo excited by the thought of GF pastries, now all they need is a frosted version!

I used to enjoy a brown sugar cinnamon pop-tart every morning of public school. My parents would send me off with lunch money which I ALWAYS chose to spend on pop tarts from our school vending machine. Toaster pasties have a unique and memorable taste (one I can remember after years off of gluten) and I’m glad to see them introduced in to the gluten free world!

I unfortunately ate lots of these, I loved them and they loved my thighs LOL. These seem like a healthier version of the sugary pastry that I remember. Which is perfect, I have a 5 yr old daughter with autism on the gfcf diet, she would love to have these as a treat every now and then!! I’ve seen many pinterest posts with ways to make a homemade gf pop-tart but the reviews are so poor about the taste & consistency. Thanks for the post, looking forward to the official release of this product.

I used to eat a Pop Tart or Toaster Strudle each morning before class. Those and buttermilk waffles were the only things I’d regularly eat for breakfast; cereal or shakes just couldn’t cut it for me.

Our son, who has been gluten-free his entire 8 years, loved the Glutino toaster pastries. The one and only box went so quickly in our house(if only I had known what a hit they’d be). These are sold out in our area at every store, I would love to see him light up at breakfast over his “Tarts.”It brings me back to the day when my parents would splurge on Pop-Tarts for breakfast. Would love to try the strawberry ones!

I LOVE Pop-Tarts. Miss them like crazy. Whenever we went on a road trip or camping, we got Pop-Tarts. Now I can’t even stand to buy them for my kids when we go on trips because I am too afraid I will cave and eat one. SO excited for the GF version!!!

When I went GF I looked all over for something to satisfy my desert desires. When I found Glutino’s Toaster Pastry I thought the sky had opened and told fell in my mouth! Then, they were sold out everywhere! Frustrated, I ordered a case from my local Whole Foods. I savor every bite! Apple Cinnamon is like coming home to the farm. Thank you Glutino, thank you!!
