Delightfully Gluten Free (TM)

SweetWorks Confections

It’s October, and do you know what that means?  It’s time to make sure you have all of your gluten-free ducks in a row…er, I mean candy.

It also means Cassandra eats too much candy.  Eek!  Unfortunately, this is especially true this week since SweetWorks sent me some samples.  Who knew I loved Sixlets so much?

I certainly didn’t.  But I know it now.  I don’t know what it is about these candy-coated chocolate-flavored candies that are so irresistible.  Maybe it’s the almost-tastes-like-chocolate-but-is-still-different quality.  I seriously need to give these away now (but they’re so good!).

You can get Sixlets in all sorts of colors, including Halloween colors and metallic Thanksgiving/fall colors.

Orange & Black Skulls remind me a lot of sweet tarts coated in a hard candy shell.  They are tart and tangy, and kind of dissolve in your mouth once you’ve broken through the outer shell.  Not only are these scary faces gluten-free, but they are also soy- and corn-free.  Happy Halloween, Braden!

Carter and Corice love the gumballs.  I can’t remember the last time I chewed a gumball (though I had my own small gumball machine as a child).  These are great for blowing big bubbles.  I decided I had to cut them in half, though, as our little mouths just couldn’t handle the size too well (I usually only chew half a serving of regular gum as it is).  We’ve had some pretty great bubble blowing contests (I always win, but I’ve had many years of practice 🙂 ).  There’s quite a variety of gumballs: eyeballs, pumpkin faces, plain colors, and ones filled with Nerds.

If you haven’t already, check out SweetWorks and their gluten-free candies.  Prepare your lists for trick-or-treating.  Make sure you’ve secured enough for your gluten-free ghosts and goblins.

Now to go work off that candy…
