Delightfully Gluten Free (TM)

Gluten-Free in the News – Buzz, Buzz

This piece was recently aired on the Dallas/Fort Worth NBC news. It talks about the “fad” aspect to the gluten-free diet, brought on by some celebrities, like Elisabeth Hasselbeck, who think everybody should go gluten-free. But it also discusses the importance for the majority of us to be gluten-free, and that the positive aspect of the “fad” is that there are more gluten-free products available.

I think that it is important to realize that this “fad” aspect is there, but we can take it and make the best of it. Perhaps this news story would not have existed had it not been for the fad.

I know it may seem like a bad thing that so many look at this as a fad diet. But in reality it does benefit those of us who have to live this way for the rest of our lives. Just two years ago I was struggling just to find a box of breakfast cereal that I could eat. Now I have a huge selection just in the flavors of Chex. My daughters love that they can have a cereal that tastes like Cinnamon Toast Cruch without getting sick.
