Yeah, pecan pie REALLY does NOT need a crust with all that gooey pecan goodness inside! That sounds delicious! I’d add a layer of chocolate chips on the bottom of the pan! MMMMmmmm.. then i’d have to hit the gym for 2 weeks straight! 😉
You must have more self-control than us if you’re only going to need to go to the gym for 2 weeks. 🙂
There is another reason to like this pie. Note that it has 6 eggs. If you ate 1/6 of it you would eat an entire egg. I don’t eat my deserts after my meal I eat them as part of my meal. In other words, eat this egg and what ever else you want to make a well rounded meal. If my desert has nutrition in it I count it. Lunch might be a piece of pie, an apple and some cottage cheese. I had my pie and the effects weren’t too bad. Just a thought.
Sounds wonderful. Galveston TX has a restaurant called Guido’s. They make something like this. I hope it is the same. We loved it. Thank you for posting this.
Thanks! I am going to make this tomorrow, just subbing something else for butter since we are CF also. I was sooo excited to find this recipe! YUM!
I made this recipe for Thanksgiving. This was my first attempt ever at a pecan pie. When i cut into it the middle was still a liquid. Any advice?
I have made this recipe the last couple years. My daughter is Celiac and this is now her favorite dessert. Thanks so much for sharing.
This pie is so yummy !!!! Though I only put half a cup of sugar and it tasted great, just an FYI. Thanks for your web site…..
I used half the sugar and it turned out delicious. I also cooked it 10 minutes longer b. Great recipe.
I don’t have corn syrup. Can I substitute it with maple syrup? Thank you.
Hi Sandra! I have never tried it with maple syrup and I’ve never done any baking with it, either, so I can’t give you an accurate answer. I’m sorry. If you do try it, let me know!
(Also, I’ve been able to log back in, finally, so now I can answer again!)
