Effective immediately (or, at least, very soon), I am officially on vacation. I need a week without constantly communicating with people…and Google (I’ve spent a lot of time working on Google Places pages lately).
I’ve never done anything like this before. Yeah, I’ll check my phone at the end of the day, just in case my boss calls. I told my supervisor I’d work if they really needed me to, but to otherwise not call me at all. Of course, I’ll call and talk to my kids. (And I’ll text my friend Monica so that someone knows I’m safe. 🙂 )
So I’m leaving Sara in charge here (she did such a good job while I was volunteering for GIG at Digestive Disease Week in Chicago), and I’m going to go lay on a beach and hike in a rain forest. Hopefully I can partake in the local cuisine safely. I have conducted some online research, printed off a Spanish restaurant card or two, and feel pretty confident.
Where do you plan to visit this summer? What steps are you taking to help you eat gluten-free safely along your way?
