Freeze-dried fruits have got to be the best kind of dried fruits, at least in my opinion. Â Though I do enjoy dehydrating fruits myself sometimes, they certainly have a different texture than freeze-dried, which has that airy crunch to it. Â Freeze-dried fruits also sort of dissolve in your mouth if you suck on them. Â 🙂
I recently received some samples from Crispy
Dried Cantaloupe? Â Who ever heard of such a thing? Â It’s definitely the strangest thing. Â It’s like cantaloupe in a chip form. Â It’s pretty good, and pretty fun. Â Some pieces are sweeter than others (because they’re real fruit, of course). Â Carter said it tastes a little weird, but after his fourth piece, I still got a “Can I have another, please?” Â Corice thought they were really good and said “I love this!”
Tangerine, though, takes the cake. Â This is definitely my favorite! Â I could seriously eat these all day long. Â They’ve got the pucker of the tartness and the lift of sweetness. Â Of course, you get all of the fiber and nutrients (because only the water is removed). Â I almost had to smack Corice’s hand away; she tried to snitch them off the plate while I was photographing them.
I don’t want to share them, but I’ll be a good Mommy.
Carter gives them a thumbs up and Corice says they are “very, very, very good. Â They taste like fruit that is juicy but there is no more juice.”
I think that about sums it up.
Crispy Green comes in other flavors, too, like Asian Pear, Pineapple, Apple, Mango, and Banana. Â There are no additives or preservatives. Â The only ingredient is the fruit! Â They are also peanut- / tree nut-free and gluten-free, and now Non-GMO Project verified.
You can use the store locator to find a store near you, or they can be purchased online.
Give the tangerine a try and get ready for a sweet pucker. Â Don’t forget to share! Â 🙂
